Honoring Unsung Heroes: ANGLICO Association Launches Monument Campaign at National Marine Corps Museum
Greetings, ANGLICO Marines and Sailors,
The ANGLICO Association is announcing the launch of a campaign to fund a monument to be placed at The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia.
The six Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Companies (ANGLICO) and Subunit One, First ANGLCIO have served this country with honor and distinction since 1949. Our combat support includes service with our allies, US forces, and special operators. ANGLICO and its predecessor JASCO units have served in every battle theater, from the Pacific Islands in WWII to Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and more minor engagements worldwide.
As members of the ANGLCIO community, we know the many tributes/memorials scattered worldwide recognizing Marines and their units, highlighting our brethren who have fought, bled and made the ultimate sacrifice. However, there is no memorial for the six ANGLICOs and Subunit One who have served primarily without recognition in many eras and places—not one, anywhere!
The ANGLICO Association has established a pivotal entity, the ANGLICO Monument Committee (AMC). This committee is dedicated to rectifying the lack of recognition for the six ANGLICOs and Subunit One. We are ready to address this oversight by placing a monument prominently at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia, to serve in perpetuity as a testament to our service. We ask that you join us in delivering on this commitment to mark our place in Marine Corps history.
We urge you to visit anglicoassociation.vet to learn more about this campaign and to contribute to this noble cause. Your support and donations are crucial in making the ANGLICO Monument a reality.
Semper Fidelis,
Jack Olson
President – ANGLICO Association
